Prepaid auto service resumes at Agartala MBB Airport

In a bid to resolve the longstanding issue of ‘unruly’ auto driver and to ensure hassle-free transport services for the passengers of the state and abroad, the state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Tuesday resumed pre-paid autorickshaw service at Agartala MBB airport.

The resumption of the service has come up a day after a high-level meeting of the minister with representatives of auto drivers and various workers' organizations at the airport's old terminal building.

The minister said that appropriate steps will be taken to continue this service in the coming days. Earlier on Monday last the minister warned a section of auto drivers at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport of taking strict action if they are found harassing any passengers in the airport.

He however expressed hope that the auto workers are satisfied with the resumption of the pre-paid service.
