CM Dr. Manik Saha warns of stern action against miscreants trying to disrupt peace in Tripura

Expressing concern over the sporadic incidents of violence after the declaration of the poll results, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday appealed to maintain peace across the state and said that 200 miscreants were arrested so far for their involvement in the violence.

Chief Minister Dr Saha accompanied by BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee on Saturday visited Khowai and Sepahijala districts and held meetings with civil and police administrations. Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, district’s DM D K Chakma and district’s superintendent of police Ratiranjan Debnath were present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that after the peaceful election and result declaration, some miscreants were trying to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere across the state. “Legal action will be taken by identifying those who are trying to disrupt the environment of peace-loving Tripura through rumors and propaganda,” he said.

The police administration has been instructed to take drastic measures to maintain law and order in the state, he said.
