Two militants Organization lay down arms in Assam


In Assam, two militants outfit Tiwa Liberation Army and United Gorkha People’s Organization today laid down arms in front of Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma. A total of 77 members of Tiwa Liberation Army from various districts of Assam surrendered today. On the other hand, 169 cadres of the United Gorkha People’s Organization laid down arms. 

Our Correspondent reports that the Tiwa Liberation Army was founded in 2014 while the Gorkha outfit was formed in 2007. Both the outfits deposited 277 various types of arms along with ammunitations. The Chief Minister Mr. Sarma has also given one time financial grant to various members of militant groups who have already laid down arms.
