CM Dr. Manik Saha terms photojournalists' contribution as significant in building society


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday termed the contribution of the photojournalists of the state as significant in building society and said that government is working with humanitarian approach for the welfare of media including journalists. Dr. Saha was addressing the gathering of journalists during the event of annual general meeting of the Tripura Photojournalists Association here at Agartala Press Club on Saturday.

Saha while addressing the event felt the necessity of maintaining cordial relations between the government and media for overall development of the state. The Chief Minister said that the present state government has already implemented various measures for the welfare of journalists, starting from insurance till hiking the monthly pension. He claimed that the journalists of this state did not have to do any movement for this, because the current government is working on the policy of solving the problem before they decide for any agitation.

On the occasion, Agartala Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar said that Tripura Photojournalists Association works for the welfare of photojournalists. Due to the positive attitude of the current government, various problems of journalists in the state have been resolved. Tripura Photojournalists Association Editor Ramakant Dey and President Ranjan Roy also spoke on the occasion.
