Heroin worth Rs. 10 Cr seized from Assam-Agartala border; 3 held


Heroin worth Rs. 10 crores were seized from a four wheeler vehicle at Churaibari Check Post along the Assam-Agartala border on Monday morning. Three persons were held in connection with the case.

The incident took place after the Tripura police led by SP North Tripura District Bhanupada Chakraborty intercepted the vehicle bearing registration number MN 01 AK 3139 and conducted a search in operation inside to seize the narcotic substances of heroin weighing over 1 kilogram. The narcotic substances were kept hidden in a secret chamber inside the vehicle, said police.

The three detained persons were identified as Abdul Ali, Samar Krishna Das, and Prosenjit Das. Both Abdul and Samar are residents of Boxanagar area.

Police said that a specific case has been registered against the arrested persons under the NDPS Act.
