Set target of 10-per cent vote share hike in each booth in LS polls: CM Dr Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who began poll campaign for the party’s candidates for both the Lok Sabha constituencies, on Tuesday called to increase the party’s vote share by at least 10 per cent in each booth of the state.

Tripura will go for Lok Sabha elections in 2-phases starting from April 19 in West Tripura constituency. The poll for East Tripura constituency will be held on April 26, while the counting votes will be held across the nation on June 4. Tripura will also go for assembly by-elections for 7-Ramnagar constituency on April 19.

Addressing the party gathering at Teliamura in Khowai district on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that the party’s executive body meeting has decided to set a target to increase BJP’s vote share by 10 per cent in each polling booth.

Asserting that the BJP-IPFT-TIPRA Motha government in Tripura has been focusing on the welfare of indigenous people, the chief minister said the Centre has inked as many as 11 accords with different groups in the northeast for peace and development.
