Asian Games: India’s Men Table Tennis team begins campaign with 3-Nil win over Yemen in group-stage clash at Hangzhou


At the ongoing Asian Games at Hangzhou in China today, Indian athletes are in action in Table Tennis and volleyball. In Table Tennis, India’s Men team began their campaign in the tournament with a comfortable 3-Nil victory over Yemen in the group stage clash. The team of Sharath Kamal, G Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai won their respective singles matches to wrap up the tie easily. The Indian Men's team will take on Singapore this afternoon.

India's Women team will also begin their campaign this afternoon against Singapore. In Volleyball, the Indian Men's team will be aiming to continue with its winning momentum against Chinese Taipei in pool-stage match this afternoon. The Vinit Kumar-led side are eyeing spot in the last-12 stage. In their last outing, India claimed a 3-2 victory over  higher ranked South Korea on Wednesday. India kickstarted their campaign at the tournament with a massive 3-Nil win over Cambodia in their Pool C match on Tuesday. India is at the top of the Pool C table with two wins in two games and five points.

Though the 19th edition of Asian Games is set to officially kick off from tomorrow, some events have already begun.
