Rs. 640.43 Cr disbursed to bank accounts of Tripura farmers under PM Kisan scheme: Minister Ratan Lal Nath


The state agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday said that as of now the Centre has allocated Rs. 640.43 crore for the farmers of the state of Tripura under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan scheme.

Addressing a press conference here in the conference hall of the civil secretariat, Nath said, “A total of Rs. 44.59 crore has been disbursed to the bank account of 2,22,955 farmers of Tripura under the PM Kisan scheme in its 15th installment.”

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has disbursed Rs. 18000 crore to the bank accounts of 8 crore farmers of the country.

“Then Centre had allocated Rs. 640.43 crore for the farmers of the state of Tripura under the PM Kisan scheme. Accordingly, the money has already been disbursed to the bank accounts of our farmers in all the instalments as of now,” he told reporters.

Highlighting the achievement of the BJP led government at the centre and the state in enhancing the livelihood of the farmers, the minister said that during the 2016-17 FY, the monthly income of farmers in the state was Rs. 6,580, but in 2018-19 it increased to Rs. 8,182. In the financial year 2020-21, it has further increased to Rs. 11,096.

“The state government has set a target to increase the monthly income of the farmers to Rs. 13,590,” he said, adding that the government is working diligently to further enhance the livelihood of the farmers by doubling the farmers’ income.
