In a major clampdown on Marijuana (Ganja) cultivation, the Tripura police along with Tripura State Rifles (TSR) on Tuesday uprooted over 50,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants at Manai Pathar Village under Jatrapur police station.
The police stated that they received a crucial tip-off, on the basis of the tip-off police personnel from Jatrapur police station along with Tripura State Rifles (TSR) took decisive action at Manai Pathar Village by uprooting over 50,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants.
Police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans launched an operation in the area and destroyed over 50,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants in a single comprehensive campaign.
A police official said “Our operation was a resounding success, and we are committed to curbing drug cultivation in the region. We have destroyed over 50,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants and the estimated market value of the destroyed Marijuana (Ganja) cultivation is approximately Rs 30 lakh.”
Sources said many in Tripura secretly do ganja cultivation because of its good demand in the market. Most of the ganja cultivated in Tripura is sold in other parts of the Country.
