42nd Agartala Book Fair to begin from Feb 21
Dec 30, 2023Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday chaired a preparatory meeting of 42nd Agartala Book Fair, scheduled to begin from February 21 next year here at Agartala Hapania International Fair Ground.
The meeting was held here at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan. Secretary P K Chakraborty, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, Professor Gangaprasad Prasain, MBB University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Satyadeo Poddar, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh at Agartala Arif Mohammad and others were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha suggested for more participation of publishers and sellers from outside the state in the 42nd Agartala Book Fair. The Chief Minister also asked the local writers to pay attention in purchasing quality books from the government.
The Chief Minister laid emphasis on noise pollution control, traffic management, uninterrupted power supply, seating arrangements for the visitors in the book fair.
Meanwhile, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder urged for quality services the increasing number of buyers, sellers and readers in the book fair.
