2 among security officer of airline held with 20 Kg Ganja from Agartala MBB airport
Nov 27, 2023In a major breakthrough, the police of airport police station on Sunday night detained a private run airline security office along with another from Agartala MBB airport in connection with an attempt to smuggle at least 20 Kg Ganja through an airline.
The security officer was identified as Nelson Jamatia, who according to the police helped another Sudhir Debbarma to smuggle the ganjas through an airline. The Ganjas were supposed to be smuggled outside the state, said SDPO of NCC Paramita Pandey on Monday.
She informed that alarmed by the incident of smuggling of Ganja from the MBB airport, the Officer In-charge Abhijit Mandal along with a police force rushed to the airport and seized a bag containing ganja, which was possessed by the accused youth Sudhir Debbarma of Sidhai area.
Police also detained a security officer of a private run airline from the airport for allegedly helping the youth to smuggle the ganjas.
