Prez Draupadi Murmu flags off 2 pairs of express trains from Agartala connecting North-East


President Draupadi Murmu Thursday flagged off two pairs of express trains from the Agartala Railway Station to boost the connectivity and tourism of North-East India. The President flagged off Agartala-Khongsang Janshatabdi Express connecting Manipur and Agartala-Kolkata Express train connecting Guwahati  from Agartala Railway station.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, State transport and tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy and officials of North-East Frontier Railway among others were present in the event. Soon after ending the event at Agartala Railway Station on Thursday, the president Murmu headed towards Tripura Sundari temple at Udaipur in Gomati district of the state and offered puja.

The President landed here at Agartala MBB airport on Wednesday last and inaugurated various government projects to boost the connectivity and education sector of the state. She was on a two days visit to the state of Tripura.
