First ever ‘School boat’ launched in Tripura’s Dumbur Lake

In a remarkable move, the Tripura government had launched the state’s first ‘School Boat’ in Dumbur Lake to carry the indigenous students facing challenges in going to schools.

The Director of Secondary Education Chandni Chandran had inaugurated the innovative project of the Karbook R D Block on Saturday and said that the ‘School Boat’ will serve the indigenous students residing in the small islands of Dumboor Lake in their educational needs.

To address the concern, where these students face numerous difficulties in attending school due to lack of road connectivity, the Block Project Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha, Damodar Tripura came up with the ingenious idea of dedicating a boat exclusively for student use.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on his social media handle on Saturday said, “First-ever 'School Boat' dedicated to serving the students residing in the enchanting islands of the breathtaking Dumboor Lake.”

“A big round of applause and appreciation to the indomitable spirit of BPC Karbook, who turned this remarkable idea into a reality. With the introduction of this innovative initiative, we are ensuring that no student is left behind in their pursuit of education,” his post in social media handle reads.

He further said, “Our commitment to providing equal opportunities for every child remains steadfast and unwavering.”
