Tripura State Co-operative Bank holds 42nd Annual General Meeting

The Tripura State Co-operative Bank Ltd. (TSCB) held its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday at the Agartala Town Hall. The event marked another significant milestone in the bank’s journey toward fostering economic development across the state.

TSCB, established on January 21, 1957, serves as the apex co-operative bank under Tripura’s two-tier co-operative credit structure. The bank received scheduled status from the Reserve Bank of India in 2018 and has since continued to expand its reach and impact in the state. At the grassroots level, the structure includes 268 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and Large-sized Adivasi Multi-Purpose Societies (LAMPS)—comprising 212 PACS and 56 LAMPS.

With 66 branches across the state, TSCB has successfully ensured its presence in all sub-divisional headquarters, providing essential banking services to both urban and rural populations. The bank remains particularly committed to improving the lives of farmers and rural communities through accessible and inclusive banking.

Managing Director of TSCB, Mr. Bhajan Chandra Ray, addressed the AGM, which was attended by several dignitaries, including the Cooperation Minister of Tripura, Sukla Charan Noatia, Chairman of TSCB, Nagadhiraj Datta, General Manager of NABARD and Jayanta Jamatia, District Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS), West Tripura.

In his speech, the Cooperation Minister praised the bank for its role in strengthening Tripura’s rural economy. He also commended TSCB’s impressive business growth and profitability during the financial year 2024–25. Special mention was made of the bank’s digital banking initiatives, which have made banking services more accessible and efficient for customers across the state.

A press meet was held on June 28, where key bank officials, including Chairman Nagadhiraj Datta, Managing Director Mr. Bhajan Chandra Ray, General Managers Biswajit Kumar Datta and Aparna Debbarma and Assistant General Manager Debasish Datta, shared insights into the bank’s performance and future plans.

As it completes over six decades of service, the Tripura State Co-operative Bank continues to play a vital role in promoting financial inclusion and supporting the development of Tripura’s rural economy.
