Tripura to seen get 3rd medical college in Dhalai, says CM Dr. Manik Saha

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Saturday announced that his government has taken an initiative of opening the state’s third medical college in Dhalai Tripura district. Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a state-level programme of celebration of 4th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna and 1st anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Missio here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan.
He said that the government is also persuading to establish a Regional Institute of Medical Science with AIMS like facilities to ensure adequate and compatible health care services for the people of this state of Tripura. “Besides, improving the health care service and medical education at the district level, the state government has been working on a plan to set up another medical college at Ambassa in Dhalai district,” he said.
The Chief Minister further said that a proposal has already been sent to the Central government for necessary clearance and funding. The project is at the final stage for consideration, he said, adding that the Tripura government is committed to improving the infrastructure of every university in the state. “Work for turning every health centre into a health and wellness centre is also in progress across the state,” Dr. Saha said.
