BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb slams CPI(M) over depriving tribals in Tripura

The BJP candidate for the West Tripura Parliamentary constituency Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday took on the opposition CPI(M) and said that the tribal parties in Tripura like TIPRA Motha, INPT, IPFT and TUJS were formed to uproot the communist party from Tripura and not defeat the BJP.

Addressing an election rally at Bagma, Deb said that the tribals in Tripura have already come out from the communist’s grip and they are no more to vote for them, who failed to meet their aspirations during the last 25 years of their rule in the state.

He said, “There was a time when the Communists in Tripura used to claim their election campaign by winning the 20 ST-reserved assembly seats. Now, those days are gone, because the tribals in Tripura have come out of their grip.”

Deb also castigated the leader of opposition Jitendra Choudhury on Wednesday over calling Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman a ‘traitor’. He said, “Pradyot was good when he gave you a free run in the last year's assembly election in Sabroom by not fielding a candidate. The same man became a traitor when he met PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the welfare of the indigenous people.”
