Paris Olympics: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh win bronze

In the Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh on Tuesday clinched Bronze in the mixed 10-meter air pistol shooting event by defeating the South Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho 16-10. With this win, Manu etched her name in the history of Indian sports by becoming the first Indian athlete in post independent era to win two medals in the same edition of the Olympics. Sarabjot, on the other hand, got his first Olympic medal. Earlier, Manu won a bronze in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event. Interestingly Calcutta-born Norman Pritchard was the first British Indian athlete to participate in the Olympic Games, also won two silver medals at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Shuttler P V Sindhu and wrestler Sushil Kumar are the only two Indians to have won multiple Olympic medals but in separate Olympic games.
