Devotees throng decorated temples across Assam in celebration of Ram Temple consecration
Jan 22, 2024Assam has joined the rest of the country in celebrating the Ram Temple consecration. Devotees throng decorated temples across the state on this auspicious occasion. Live streaming of the consecration from Ayodhya has been arranged for the devotees. The Assam government declared holidays for all government educational institutes.
Meat and fish shops are also closed up to 4 pm today. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is watching the consecration event at Fatasil Ambari harijan colony in Guwahati. The Chief Minister appealed to people to light earthen lamps in the evening at every household. Many people are observing fast today while several organizations are offering food to the needy people. Several devotees along with prominent persons have already reached Ayodhya to witness the once-in-a-lifetime event.
