‘Operation Ganga’ 1314 Indians airlifted


A total of one thousand 314 Indians were airlifted today by seven special civilian flights from Ukraine’s neighbouring countries under ‘Operation Ganga’. Civil Aviation Ministry said that with this, more than 17 thousand 4 hundred Indians have been brought back since the special flights began on 22nd February. 

The number of Indians airlifted by 73 special civilian flights amount to 15 thousand 206. One C-17 IAF flight landed in Delhi this evening with 201 Indians on board, including Harjot Singh who sustained bullet injuries in Kyiv. Indian Air Force had earlier flown 10 sorties to bring back 2056 passengers under Operation Ganga.

Among the special civilian flights today, four have landed in New Delhi while two reached Mumbai. One flight is expected late in the evening. There were 5 flights from Budapest, and one each from Bucharest and Suceava. Tomorrow, two special Civilian flights are expected to operate from Suceava, bringing in more than 400 Indians back home.
