ARDD minister launches ‘Mukhyamantri Prani-Palak Sammannidhi’ Scheme


The minister for Animal Resource Development Department Sudhangshu Das on Wednesday launched ‘Mukhyamantri Prani-Palak Sammannidhi’ scheme to enhance the livelihood of the livestock farmers of the state.

Addressing the inaugural programme here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the minister said that the government is committee to make the livestock farmers of the state self-reliant and as part of this the ‘Mukhyamantri Prani-Palak Sammannidhi’ has been undertaken.

He said that the scheme also aimed to enhance the rural economy through encouraging the farmers of the state in livestock farming and building a self-reliant Tripura. Beneficiaries of this scheme will be provided with one-time financial assistance of Rs. 6000, he added.

Beneficiaries having an annual income of less than Rs. 2 lakhs and having at least one dairy cow or 10 goats or an improved breed of pig will be brought under the coverage of this scheme, he said, adding that in the first phase, financial assistance will be given to 2,900 identified livestock farmers in the state.

He further said that more than 36,000 families will be assisted with Rs 1,300 each for rearing poultry cocks and ducks under the ‘Mukhyamantri Prani-Palak Sammannidhi’ Scheme to meet the shortage of eggs and meat in the state.
