Nursing service is the backbone of the healthcare system. The state government is working to improve the quality of life for the nursing community by providing a safe and improved infrastructure, regular recruitment, modern training, and a respectful title, said Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha while addressing on the occasion of International Nurses Day 2025 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan jointly organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Tripura Nursing Council. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also paid floral tributes to the portrait of Florence Nightingale.
Nurses play an essential role in our medical institutions such as giving safety or help in the recovery of patients etc. No doubt when some patient is in need of care then nurses work tirelessly to identify and protect the needs of the individual, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Florence Nightingale was the mother of modern nursing services. Nightingale's way philosophy will be established only when a nurse presents her knowledge, skills, her own responsibility to the patients. He said nurses from South India and Manipur have a reputation across the country. Now the nurses of Tripura are also gaining fame outside the state, he added.
