Law-and-order situation improved in Tripura: CM Dr. Manik Saha on Police Week
Jan 06, 2023Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the celebration of Tripura Police Week 2023 at Manoranjan Debbarma Memorial Stadium in Agartala on Friday and claimed that the law-and-order situation in Tripura has been improved with the immense effort of the police.
He said, “The law and order has also improved in the state significantly. Police are responsible for maintaining law and order. People are now feeling secure which, the police to maintain.”
“During my visit to different police station on my tenure, I have listened to the problems of the police and following this I want to tell you that in the coming days all such issues will be solved soon,” he said, adding that Tripura police is playing a very active role in maintaining the law-and-order situation of the state.
Meanwhile, claiming of a sharp decline in cultivation of ganja in the state, the Chief Minister, who also holds the home portfolio said, “In terms of seizure of narcotics which come from Myanmar, we are second highest after Assam.”
The chief minister Dr. Saha accompanied by the Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabh Ranjan presented awards to various police officials for excellence in service in different categories.
Retired TPS Gr-1 Pradyot Bhaumik awarded as Life-time achiever of Tripura police (2022), while Dulal Chandra Datta, DSP DIB (south Tripura) awarded as Policeman of the year 2022.
SDPO Khowai Rajiv Sutradhar awarded as Best investigator of the year 2022, Anjan Majumder of TSR 1st Bn. as Best clerical staff-2022 from TSR battalions, LD (SP-procurement) Rajiv Singha as Best clerical staff-2022 civil police units, Khowai police station of Khowai district as Best police station in technology-2022, Birganj police station of Gomati district as Best police station for beat system-2022, New Capital Complex police station in Agartala as Best police station for the year-2022, Unakoti district as Best district for beat system-2022, Cyber Crime unit, Crime Branch as Best unit of police in technology-2022, 12th battalion TSR (IR VIII) as Best TSR battalion-2022, and South Tripura district as Best district for the year 2022.
On the other hand, a total of 59 police personnel of different ranks and units from different districts were awarded as a part of the DGP’s COMMENDATION DISC, 2022. DGP Amitabh Ranjan presented the commendation disc and certificates.
