Nepal Celebrates National Youth Day by Paying Homage to Swami Vivekananda

In a programme celebrating Swami Vivekananda’s anniversary, the Embassy of India paid homage to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary, which is celebrated as the National Youth Day. Prof Kaushikee, ICCR Chair at Tribhuvan University, lectured on the continuing importance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in contemporary times, especially for the youth. Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings continue to inspire millions, especially the youth, to pursue a life of purpose, self-discipline, and service to others. Ramakrishna Mission was founded by him; this organisation works on the ideals of social service, educational upliftment, and spreading the teachings of Vedanta. His call for tolerance and understanding among different religions helped foster a sense of national unity and identity.

Director Swami Vivekanand Cultural Center, officials of the Indian Mission in Kathmandu and students of SVCC in Nepal paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda at the event.
