CM Dr Manik Saha chairs 37th executive committee meeting of Science & Tech


Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday chaired the 37th executive committee meeting of the department of Science and Technology Council here at Agartala Civil Secretariat and emphasised on promoting science and technology among the students.

The meeting mainly discussed the success, progress, future plan and new initiatives of Tripura State Science and Technology Council.

The Chief Minister said that considering the needs of the general public, science and various technical awareness programs should be undertaken. He emphasized on regular review of what further programs should be undertaken for science and technology development in the state and take necessary steps accordingly.

“He said that the Department of Science, Technology and Environment should also take initiatives to coordinate with the related departments involved in the development work in addition to creating action plans for various works. This will speed up the implementation of the development program as well as increase the desired success rate,” he said.

Meanwhile, the director of the department Animesh Das informed that initiative has been taken to establish a science park in Agartala Science City, for which Rs. 10.29 Crore has been received from the North Eastern Council. The Ministry of Culture, Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 40 Crore for establishment of theme-based galleries and planetariums in Science City.
