Development of country not possible without rural development: CM Dr. Manik Saha


Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that rural development will play a key role towards nation building. He urged upon the public representatives of the 3-tier panchayats to work diligently in meeting the people’s aspirations by addressing their problems and issues.

Dr. Saha inaugurated Panchayat Awards and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) state-wide awards ceremony here at Agartala Arundhuti Nagar Panchayat Raj Bhavan. The Chief Minister also introduced UPI-enabled transaction system in all panchayat raj institutions to access to the digital payments for all development work and revenue collection

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put utmost efforts to strengthen the three-tier panchayat raj system for the development of rural areas and moving in line with the PM Modi’s effort, the Tripura government to improve the socio-economic conditions of the last person of the society.

The Chief Minister said that e-office and e-cabinet systems have been introduced in the state in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to build digital India. The paperless issue has also been added with the introduction of a digital transaction system in three-tier panchayats.

On the other hand, the Chief Secretary J K Sinha said that Tripura has set an example across the country by introducing UPI-enabled transaction system in 1176 gram panchayats and village committees of the state.
