Tripura Govt vows to promote tourism to attract more tourists: Minister Sushanta Chowdhury


Tripura government vows for more development of the tourism sector of the state for its global outreach and woo more tourists in the state, said tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday.

The Minister chaired the 35th meeting of the Board of Directors of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited here at Agartala Gitanjali Tourism Guest House.  Acting Secretary of Tourism Department L T Darlong, Managing Director Tapan Kumar Das among others were present in the meeting.

During the meeting the minister said that to promote the state tourism sector the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited has taken the initiative of making former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador of state tourism.

MD Tapan Kumar Das informed that under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme, five project proposals of Agartala, Unakoti, Dumbur, Udaipur and Chabimura were sent to the central government for approval, following which the central government has already approved two projects of Agartala and Unakoti. IPE Global Limited is assigned for the implementation of this project.
