Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates New Terminal Building at Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh


Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the New Terminal Building at Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh on September 24. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Scindia termed Arunachal Pradesh as the future ‘Gateway of Bharat,’ where horticultural exports are poised to flourish. He said presently, the region’s fruits are reaching destinations as far as Germany, London, and Singapore. He informed that the Tezu Terminal building has been constructed at a cost of 170 crore rupees on 212 acres of land. It has a 1,500-meter runway and is fully equipped to handle aircraft of the ATR-72 type. With Tezu now on the aerial map, the state has a total of four airports, namely Tezu, Zero, Hollongi, and Pasighat. Tezu is currently connected to Imphal, Dibrugarh, and Guwahati.

Mr. Scindia further announced that Itanagar will soon be connected to Rupsi, Jorhat, and Delhi under the UDAAN-5 scheme of the Government of India.
