Biplab Kanti Bhowmik condemns alleged remarks by former CPI(M) MP

Prominent social worker, Biplab Kanti Bhowmik, offered prayers to Lord Hanuman on Tuesday as part of his weekly spiritual routine. Continuing a personal tradition, Mr. Bhowmik visited the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, where he symbolically fed a group of monkeys, whom many followers of the Hindu faith regard as earthly manifestations of the deity.

Speaking to the media during the visit, Mr. Bhowmik addressed a recent controversy involving former Communist Party of India (Marxist) Member of Parliament, Sankar Prasad Dutta. According to Mr. Bhowmik, the former MP allegedly made derogatory remarks about Lord Hanuman, prompting sharp condemnation.

“This is not just an insult to a deity, but a direct affront to the faith and sentiments of millions of devotees across the country,” Mr. Bhowmik said.

He further urged citizens, particularly followers of Sanatan Dharma, to take a firm stand against such incidents. “I appeal to all Sanatani Hindus and responsible citizens of India to socially boycott individuals who promote distorted communist ideologies that undermine our cultural and spiritual values,” he added.

Mr. Bhowmik also emphasized the importance of unity and vigilance in the face of what he described as “ideological attacks” on India’s religious and cultural heritage. He called upon people from all walks of life to uphold the values enshrined in the country’s diverse spiritual traditions.
