Pradyot expresses dismay over IPFT’s apathy, says TIPRA Motha will announce candidates on Jan 29

At a time when the ruling BJP party on Saturday evening announced extension of party’s alliance with the IPFT party for the ensuing assembly election in Tripura, the TIPRA Motha regional political party led by state’s royal scion Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma expressed his dismay over the IPFT’s apathy and said that the TIPRA Motha party will announce its candidates on January 29 next.

“We will announce our candidate lists on Sunday morning,” Pradyot told the reporter of tripuratoday.com over telephonic conversation on Saturday evening.

Asked about the IPFT's unchanged alliance with the ruling BJP party, Pradtyot said, “A part of IPFT has decided to continue its alliance with the BJP, while we are still in touch with a major faction of the IPFT.”

On the other hand, on being asked about his view on ‘Common Minimum Programme’ between the BJP and IPFT party, Pradyot said, “The BJP is always meant for minimum because they did very minimum development for all sections of people of the state. But the TIPRA Motha party is working on the ideology of maximum development and here lies the difference.”

TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Manikya Deb Barma, who announced to contest the ensuing election solo without forging alliance with any other political parties, on Saturday tweeted, “Many calls coming from everywhere ! Reports of thousands of IPFT supporters joining us.”

Meanwhile, expressing his dismay over the apathy from the IPFT party, Pradyot tweeted, “All the IPFT leaders are surprisingly not picking up their calls! Been waiting to hear from them since 11 am ! Looks like Operation lotus is on !.”
