Left women leaders blames govt over Manipur violence
Jul 31, 2023The Left women leaders under the banner of All India Democratic Women’s Association on Monday staged a protest against Manipur violence here at Agartala and blamed the government over intensifying the situation in Manipur.
The protest was led by women leader Rama Das. She alleged that the BJP government in Manipur and at the Centre had failed to tackle the inhuman incidents of violence in Mainpur, rather helping to spread such incidents in the entire North-East region of the country.
The women leaders however demanded immediate step down of Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh, and sought the intervention of the government over proper investigation and appropriate punishment of those involved in women related crimes in Manipur. They also demanded the government for rehabilitation of those who were rendered homeless in Manipur violence.
