CM urges people to strengthen ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign

Aiming to generate patriotism among the people of this state along with the rest of the country, the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday urged to strengthen the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement. He called for larger participation into the campaign by hoisting the tricolour on every house across the state.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday here at the civil secretariat, the Chief Minister said that this campaign has been taken under able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay tribute to the valorous soldiers of the country and to generate patriotism on the occasion of India's 75th Independence Day.

'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign will be observed from August 13 till August 15 to awaken this patriotism among the citizens of the state, Saha said, adding that the national flag will be hoisted in every house of the state besides government and private institutions.

The Chief Minister informed that 5.37 lakhs national flags will be distributed in eight districts of the state to make this campaign successful and these flags will be arranged through Handlooms & Handicrafts department, TRLM and TULM.

Apart from that, the District Magistrates of all the districts of the state will arrange supply of national flags through different Self-Help Groups. National flags will be available at Panchayat offices, Village Committee office, Ward office and ration shops of the districts at very low cost, he said.

He said that apart from that, importance has been given on making 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign successful through generating awareness across the state. In this regard, flex and hoardings have been put up. Awareness is being generated through FM channels and through audios in Bengali and Kokborok languages.

The Chief Minister has informed that 'Selfie Booths' have been set up in front of the Ujjayanta Palace premises, City Centre, Heritage Park, MBB College and Tripura University with the initiative of ICA department, where one can take a photo holding the national flag at the 'Selfie Booth' and upload it at the website:
