Jiten claims to secure absolute majority with Left-Congress combine


The opposition CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Choudhury, Tuesday claimed that the Left-Congress combine is all set to secure absolute majority in the ensuing general election to the 60-assembly constituencies of Tripura.

Interacting with the media persons in the press the meet event here at Agartala Press Club on Tuesday, the veteran CPI(M) leader Jitendra Choudhury, contesting from the Sabroom constituency in South Tripura district denied to comment on the query about the Chief Ministerial face of the Left-Congress combine and said, “I have no authority to speak on this, but then normally the incumbent chief minister is projected as the face of the government.”

“The Left and the Congress came together to restore democracy, murdered by the BJP-IPFT,” he told reporters.

Meanwhile, he said that there will be "no problem" as far as a post-poll adjustment with the TIPRA Motha if that is required. He said, “An effort was made to forge a pre-poll adjustment with the regional party, but it was not successful.”
