BJP freed Tripura from fear and violence – PM Modi says votes for Left-Congress will pull down Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a jibe at the CPI(M) and the Congress party to state that the parties took the state of Tripura backward in terms of development during their tenure.

“Every vote for the Left-Congress alliance will pull down the state,” PM Modi said, while addressing the BJP party’s campaign train at Ambassa in Dhalai district of the state.

He said, “The rule of Congress and the Communist party in Tripura hindered the developmental works in the state and instigated violence and fear among the people of the state.”

“It was during the 2018, that the BJP had freed the people of Tripura from that fear and violence. The BJP government brought development in Tripura. Violence isn't anymore the identity of Tripura,” he said.

Citing the HIRA model as was promised by him before the 2018 poll, PM Modi said, “Tripura now has 5,000 km of roads to connect all villages, and that infrastructure was being developed to ensure every village can enjoy the benefits of optical fibre and 4G.

“With the inauguration of Tripura MBB airport last year, the region is now more accessible. Tripura shall soon become the gateway of South Asia for trade,” he said.
