Police performing good to maintain law and order situation: CM Dr. Manik Saha


Agartala, Nov 20: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Sunday praised the performance of the Tripura police and claimed that law and order situation in the state is better than before. Dr. Saha, who also holds the home portfolio on Sunday chaired a meeting with the top cops including the officer in charge of all the police stations of the state here at Agartala Pragna Bhagwan to review the law and order situation of the state.

Ending the meeting the Chief Minister addressed a press conference and said that the crime against women is reduced by 30 per cent. He underlined the data of the crime rates of the state and said, “Murder cases are reduced by 15 per cent, dowry deaths are reduced by 10 per cent, rapes cases by 10 per cent, molestation cases are cut by 35 per cent and Eve teasing by 60 per cent.”

He however praised the role of the jawans of Tripura State Rifles and said that there is a huge demand of the TSR jawans of our state and accordingly as of now three separate battalions of TSR jawans are deployed outside the state like Delhi, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. He said, “Our police is playing a key role towards reducing crime rate in the state and also maintain better law and order situation.”
