Nearly 57.70 percent voter turnout was recorded till 5 PM in Delhi Assembly polls. The poling for the 70-member assembly elections began at 7 AM today which continued till 6 PM. The highest poll percentage was recorded in North East Delhi district with 63.83 percent followed by Shahdara with 61.35 percent. 57.24 percent of voter turnout registered in North Delhi and 58.05 percent in North West. South Delhi district recorded 55.72 percent, New Delhi 54.37 percent, South West 58.86 percent, and West Delhi recorded 57.42 percent of voter turnout. The Central Delhi district registered 55.24 percent and 58.98 percent of voting in East Delhi. Whereas, South East district recorded the lowest voter percentage with 53.77 percent per cent.
Voting for bye-polls in Erode-East assembly seat in Tamil Nadu and Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh is also underway. Till 5 PM, over 64.02 per cent of voter turnout was recorded in Erode-East and around 65.25 percent in Milkipur.
