Tripura remembers Pdt Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary

Along with the rest of the nations, Tripura on Wednesday observed Antyodaya Diwas to remember Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya – a proponent of integral humanism ideology and leader of the political party Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) on his birth anniversary.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha paid tribute to the leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Deendayal Upadhyaya, on his 107th birth anniversary, recalling his dedication and service to the country. He highlighted the late politician’s concept of "Antyodaya" which means to ensure the rise and development of the last person in society.

Speaking on the occasion on Wednesday here at Agartala Rabindra Bhavan, the Chief Minister said, “If we want to take the country to the peak of development, we must adopt the philosophy of our great thinkers like Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.”

He criticised the previous government and said that the former governments here in the country had never adopted the philosophy of those thinkers for the development of the country, following which the marginalised and backward class people of this country were deprived at large.
