Centre assures Tripura Govt of dull support in developing sports infra: Sushanta
Sep 26, 2022Aiming to upgrade the infrastructure of sports in the state, the Tripura government had proposed the centre and sought approval for building Sports Multipurpose Hall each in eight districts of the state, said sports and youth affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury here in the second day of the ongoing assembly session on Monday. Chowdhury, while replying to the query of the MLA Malina Debnath, informed the house that the centre is likely to approve the proposal of the Tripura government regarding the setting up of Sports Multipurpose Halls.
He said that the present government of the state is sincere in the development of sports in the state. Initiatives have been taken to develop suitable infrastructure for sports in every assembly constituency of the state, he informed the house. Mentioning that he had spoken with the Union Sports Minister regarding the establishment of Sports Multipurpose Hall, the minister said that the Union Government has assured the state of full cooperation in the development of sports.
