International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed
Dec 03, 2022Agartala, Dec 03: Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has lauded the fortitude and accomplishments of Divyangjan on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Saturday. Addressing a gathering of Divyangjans here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan on Saturday, the minister said that the government has undertaken numerous initiatives which have created opportunities for persons with disabilities and enabled them to shine.
“The government has also paid special attention to their housing, education and employment. Efforts are also being made to enhance the livelihood of the Divyangjans of the state,” he said. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Mohammad Zubair Ali Hasmi discussed the context of the International Divyangjan Day celebrations. He said that with the advancement of technology, the lifestyle of Divyangjans will also be greatly assisted in the future.
