Tripura celebrates International Mother Tongue Day

Tripura observed International Mother Tongue Day with a series of events and colourful programmes on Friday. The main function was organised by the Education Department at Agartala town hall on Friday.
Speaking in the inaugural ceremony Minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer's Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath said “Language is the expression of emotions, actions and feelings for an individual, which is also considered as a medium of communication with others. The State government has given priority to the development of all the languages”, he pointed out.
The International Mother Tongue Day celebration gives respect to all languages across the globe and was first declared in 1999.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder and others were also present.
