Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday pitched for ‘TB Mukt Tripura’ and urged for a collective effort to end the disease of Tuberculosis among the people of the state.

Dr. Saha was addressing an annual general meeting of the Tripura TB Association here at Agartala TB Association Hall.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a TB-free India by 2025. In view of the Prime Minister's call, the state government has also resolved to make Tripura TB free by 2025,” said Dr Saha, adding that the TB association should play an active role towards achieving the goal.

He said, “TB disease does not only attack the respiratory system but can infect every part of the body. If treatment is started at the right time, it is possible to get rid of this disease. Therefore, the TB Association should also emphasize on making people aware about this disease.”
