Benchmark domestic equity indices today maintained their positive trend amid buying across all sectors and the release of key earnings reports. The 30-share index at the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, surged 741 points, or 0.97 percent, to close at 77,500. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange Nifty-50 soared 259 points, or 1.11 percent, to settle at 23,508. The broader market indices at BSE also ended in positive territory. The Mid-Cap index rose over 1.7 percent and the Small-Cap index increased over 1.8 percent.
