CM Dr. Manik Saha targets CPI-M of hatching terror tactics during 25 years in Tripura

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Monday reiterated his attack on the opposition CPI-M party and alleged that the communist party had snatched all the democratic rights of the people of Tripura during their 25 years ‘misrule’ in the state.

“The CPI-M hatched terror tactics during their 35 years rule in Tripura in two stints and throttled the democratic voice of the people of this state,” Dr. Saha said.

The Chief Minister was addressing a programme in Gandatuisa area in the Dhalai district commemorating the killing of a BJP worker ahead of the 2018 assembly election.

He continued targeting the CPI-M party and alleged, “We are witness to the incidents of violence and bloodshed that took place across the state during the spell of 35 years of the misrule of the CPI-M party and now they said that the law and order situation has deteriorated in Tripura.”

“They had pushed the state to a disaster-like situation and no development had taken place,” he said, adding that the BJP party had taken the ashes of the slain BJP worker, Chanmohan Tripura, to all the 60 assembly constituencies of the state before the 2018 polls for supporters to pay his last respects. He said, “Chanmohan Tripura like leader was killed by the communist party as they were worried of his emergence as a voice for the frustrated people for this state during the Left’s rule.”

He claimed that the saffron camp does not believe in political violence and Tripura hasn’t witnessed any post-poll violence since the BJP came to power in the state.

“Development is taking place at a rapid pace. The government is meeting the basic needs of the people, be it drinking water, electricity or LPG connection. Tripura will be safe only at the hands of the BJP,” he said.
