Biplab slams CPI(M) for depriving tribals

The BJP candidate for the West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday labelled the opposition CPI(M) as the enemy of the tribals in Tripura.

Addressing an election rally in support of the party candidate for the East Tripura Parliamentary Constituency Kriti Singh Debbarma at Raima Valley in Gandacherra subdivision, Deb said, “The Communist party never wanted development of tribal dominated villages and areas in Tripura and that way the 25 years rule of the Communist party had deprived the tribals in Tripura from their rights.”

Lambasting upon the CPI(M), Deb on Tuesday targeted the CPI(M) leader Jitendra Chaudhury and said, “The Communist leader, who himself called as tribal had never dared to contest from ST-reserved assembly seat, rather he had contested from Sabroom assembly constituency to become an MLA.”

Deb later mocked at the Congress-CPI(M) alliance and said that the Communist party, which is on the verge of extinction, had chosen to vote for the Congress in this Lok Sabha election. Deb said, “Manik Sarkar and Jitendra Chaudhury have decided to vote for the Congress, but I am sure that Manik Sarkar had casted his vote in NOTA and not for Congress.”

“People of Tripura want to know for whom the four times Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has casted his vote in this Lok Sabha election,” Deb added.

He however appealed to the people of Gandacherra to quit and reject the unholy alliance of the Congress and CPI(M) and cast their vote for BJP candidate Kriti Singh Debbarma.
