The Tripura government has allocated three crucial departments to newly inducted Cabinet Minister Kishor Barman, according to an official notification issued on Friday.
Barman, who was sworn in as a minister on July 3, has been given charge of the Panchayat Department, Higher Education, and General Administration (Political). The portfolios were assigned under the provisions of Rule 5 of the Rules of Executive Business of the Government of Tripura.
The notification, issued by Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, stated that the assignments were made by the Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, acting on the advice of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. The order has been circulated to all key administrative departments, including the offices of the Governor, Chief Minister, and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
Kishor Barman, a BJP MLA from Nalchar constituency, was inducted into the state Cabinet earlier this month. He took the oath of office and secrecy at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, administered by Governor Reddy.
With these new responsibilities, Barman is expected to play a significant role in the state government, particularly in rural governance and higher education reforms.
