Tripura Govt provided 24,033 jobs since 2018: ICA Minister


At a time when the almost all the opposition political parties are accusing the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura over rising rate of unemployment, the state information and cultural affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday came out with an employment data and claimed that so far 24,033 jobs were given in Tripura since 2018, while more are in pipeline.

Addressing a press conference here at the civil secretariat the minister said, “The finance department has sanctioned a total of 41,949 jobs for various government departments. Out of this, a total of 24,033 jobs have already been provided including regular, die-in-harness, contractual, and outsourcing.”

“The recruitment process for the rest is underway. Out of the 41,949 jobs approved by the finance department, 17,687 are of regular posts,” he told reporters.

He said that the recruitment process of about 5000 posts of JRBT, 6000 special executive posts, 3000 TET posts, 1000 police constable posts is currently underway. “The statistics of the Finance Department showed that only 13,657 people were given jobs in regular posts during the previous government from 2013-2017,” he said.
