2 Bangladesh nationals, 4 Indians held from Agartala railway station


The Government Railway Police Station (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have detained two Bangladeshi nationals and four Indians, reported to be touts, were detained from Agartala railway station on Friday.

The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Rupasi Rani Majumder and Sakul Chandra Baidya, both residents of Comilla District, Bangladesh.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Government Railway Police Station Tapas Das informed there was information about the arrival of some Bangladesh nationals through Kanchanjunga express train here at Agartala railway station. Based on the information, the GRP and RPF detained at least 6 persons on ground for their suspicious movement towards the exit point of the railway station on Friday.

He further informed that on integration, two of the six persons confessed that they are from Bangladesh and were supposed to cross the border to another part, while the rest four persons are found to be the residents of South Joynagar area here in Tripura.
