Mayor flags off solid waste management collection and transportation vehicles
Jul 26, 2024Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder on Friday flagged off new solid waste management collection and transportation vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said in order to improve the solid waste management collection and transportation system various initiatives are taken by Agartala Municipal Corporation among these initiatives induction of new fleet is one. With the help of Govt. of India and State Govt, following new vehicles are recently procured under Urban Infrastructure Development Fund & Snecial Assistance to States for Capital Investment Scheme. 4 wheeler Hopper Electric Tipper: 51 nos. have been procured through Government e-Market place. These are completely new type of vehicle launched by TATA and that will reduce fuel consumption. These will be used for primary collection activities especially from commercial establishment hotel/market/bazar/apartment. We are working to finalise a model by involving expertise agency for operation and maintenance, he added.
Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Monika Das Datta, Mayor in Council Ratna Dutta, Mayor in Council Sampa Sen and others were present.
