CM Dr Manik Saha demands AIMS in Tripura; seeks support from DoNER

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday attended the second meeting of the High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion in the North Eastern Region chaired by the DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and sought support of the ministry for establishment of AIMS in Tripura.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also demanded support from the ministry for operation of international flight services from Agartala MBB Airport.
During his virtual address in the meeting, the Chief Minister sought support from the DoNER Ministry to declare the gymnasium academy of the state a National Gymnast Academy, to take necessary step for upgradation of the National Highway – 6, for subsidy on the price of gas and many other issues related to state's interest.
The Chief Minister also expressed the outlook of the state government to encourage entrepreneurs for establishing industry by building a skilled workforce. He referred to various initiatives taken to expedite the work of infrastructural development projects in the state. He said, the GSDP and per capita income of the state has increased remarkably. In overall perspective Tripura is now coming up as a frontrunner state.
Speaking on the occasion the Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia appreciated the GSDP rate and per capita income of the state, and many other initiatives of the state towards attaining sustainable development.
He said, the way Tripura has set examples in many fields, if the Northeastern states follow that they will move further ahead on the path of development. He also highlighted the matter of including Unakoti of Tripura in the North-East Tourism Circuit. He also emphasised running a 19-seater passenger flight service from Kailashahar. He assured the state to extend a helping hand for promotion of palm cultivation. In addition, he advised the state to identify the pivotal sectors for development and employment generation and take necessary measures accordingly.
