AR destroy cannabis plantation worth Rs 2.9 Cr


In a major crackdown against Marijuana (Ganja) cultivation, the Assam Rifles in collaboration with Custom Preventive Force, Sonamura and District Police Headquarters, Sepahijala on Monday  uprooted around 75,000 Marijuana (Ganja) plants and destroyed the plants at Bejoynagar  in Sepahijala district.

The destroyed Marijuana (Ganja) plants valued at approximately Rs 2.9 Crore, was spread across 100 acres at two different sites. The concerted action underscores the commitment of security forces to curb the menace of drug trafficking and ensure a drug-free society.

Assam Rifles, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, remains vigilant in its efforts to combat narcotics cultivation and trafficking. Such operations reaffirm the resolve of security forces to maintain law and order while protecting the region from the adverse impact of illegal drug trade.
