Opp leader Animesh Debbarma accuses Govt of failing to fulfil people’s aspiration

The leader of opposition Animesh Debbarma on Wednesday accused the BJP-led coalition government and alleged that the government had failed to fulfil the aspiration of people of this state.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala, Debbarma held the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha responsible for the growing issues of the people of Tripura, where the poor people in the rural pockets of the state are reeling under acute crisis.

“I have come across the suffering of people in the villages across the state, during my recent visit, where I found that the villagers and the tribals are reeling under the crisis of drinking water facilities, improper power services, broken health infrastructure and many others,” he told reporters.

He said, “Because the Chief Minister himself holds the portfolio of many departments, I hold the Chief Minister responsible for the growing people’s issues. I suggest the Chief Minister to come out of his office chamber and visit the rural pockets of the state to check the so called development.”

Debbarma also expressed his concern over unemployment and alleged, “At a time when the unemployment rate is growing in the state, the government has failed to fill up an adequate number of posts lying vacant in the education department.

“Over hundreds of students, especially in the rural schools are crying for teachers in their schools,” he said, adding that there has been recruitment of teachers for the past many years, following which the education sector has collapsed in the rural area of the state.
